164th Ave NE Extension

Location: 164th Ave NE from NE 76th St to Cleveland St
Project Phase: In Construction
Estimated Timeline: Construction completion December 2012

Extending 164th Avenue NE from NE 76th Street to Cleveland Street will complete the connection another linkage between Town Center and the east end of the downtown corridor. This will add an additional north/south link and thereby provide greater choices for drivers, pedestrians and bicyclists.

This new connection will feature a roundabout at the intersection of 164th Avenue NE and NE 76th Street and a concrete printed pedestrian friendly corridor between NE 76th Street and Cleveland Street. A new traffic signal system will be installed at the intersection of 164th Avenue NE and Cleveland Street that will accommodate the return to two way traffic on Cleveland Street in the future.

Sidewalk and bicycle connections will be installed along the new corridor and utility infrastructure such as storm water, street lighting, and upgraded power, phone and telecommunications are being added.

Project construction is scheduled to begin in August 2012 and be substantially completed and open to traffic by the end of December 2012.
