Farrel-McWhirter Riding Facility
The Farrel-McWhirter Riding School is located at historic Farrel-McWhirter Park. Farrel-McWhirter boasts a long equestrian tradition. The land was originally purchase by Mrs. Elise Farrel-McWhirter, an avid horsewoman, in the 1930's as a vacation home and a place to train her horses. Mrs. Farrel-McWhirter left the land to the City of Redmond upon her death in the 1970's and the Farrel-McWhirter Riding School is proud to continue her legacy of horsemanship.
Farrel-McWhirter Park is located in the heart of east Redmond's equestrian community and has a large public arena, 40' round pen and several miles of wooded trails. The Riding School facilities include the original 1930's Hay barn that serves as the Riding school's class room area and has seating and overhead heaters for participants and parents. All of the equine paddocks are all weather/no mud with Noble® stalls or shelters for each resident. A large grass pasture in the original homestead's apple orchard is used for daily turn outs.
The Riding School's horses and ponies enjoy top notch care which includes- a carefully monitored diet, weekly training sessions with FMRS staff, and the services of the Riding School's veterinarian and farrier.
