Redmond, WA —The City of Redmond is recruiting two youth advocates to join the City’s active and vibrant Arts Commission. Youth advocates are an essential part of the Arts Commission. They must have a passion for creativity and community building; live, work, or study in Redmond city limits; be between the ages of 16 and 26; and be able to serve through August 2013.
“Youth advocates are important voices on the Commission. They help shape the cultural programs and art of Redmond,” states Joshua Heim, Arts Administrator. He adds, “They link youth culture and experience to our public service and the work of the Arts Commission.” The Youth Advocates work directly with the Arts Commission on special projects and serve as advisory Commission members during monthly meetings every second Thursday at Redmond City Hall.
The Redmond Arts Commission is a catalyst for creativity in Redmond, working to champion art throughout our community. The Arts Commission makes recommendations to the Mayor and City Council regarding art acquisitions, cultural programs, funding, projects, and events.
