Redmond, WA —Redmond is known for many things and is in fact home to miles of trails, beautiful parks and a growing diverse community. Redmond is also home for close to 400 proud military Veterans. These men and women represent all eras of military service including World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam, the first Gulf War, and the current battles in Afghanistan and Iraq. They have worn the uniform of the US Army, Air force, Navy, Marines, as well as the US Coast Guard and Merchant Marines. Together, they have served in war-time and in peacetime, in the National Guard and the enlisted Military inside our own borders and abroad.
As the City celebrates its 100 year Centennial Anniversary this year, it’s fitting to recognize not only the pioneers among us, but those Veterans who have given in ways many of us find hard to understand. These men and women are your neighbors, your parents, your siblings, your nieces and nephews, your cousins, your schoolteachers, your co-worker, our City employees and more. This November 11th take time to recognize the Veterans in our community. We owe them a debt of gratitude.
We invite citizens to attend the 1:00pm Veterans Day program and concert celebrating Veterans to be held at the Senior Center in Redmond on Friday November 9.
