It's hard to believe that I have been working at the Redmond Senior Center (RSC) for over a year. I became the RSC Administrator in December of 2014 and I have loved every minute since. The RSC is a warm and friendly place because the seniors and staff treat each other with kindness and respect. It is a pleasure working for the City of Redmond in this wonderful facility!
The RSC has some great events scheduled over the next few months - our annual Lunar New Year celebration, Leap Year Pancake Breakfast and Pi Day. I also encourage you to attend one of the monthly Seniors from India lunches or Sophisticated Swing Big Band concerts.
Join one of our Interest Groups, sign up for a fitness class or take a trip on the new RSC bus. The RSC has something for everyone!
I would like to personally thank all of the volunteers and the Senior Advisory Committee for sharing their time and talents with the center. Our staff truly appreciates everything that you do for us and the RSC.
I hope to see you soon. Take care!

programs and services for the older adult residents of Redmond in the
early 1970’s. From offices housed in a log cabin in Anderson Park, staff organized a variety of programs. A core group of seniors met regularly for lunch and socializing, as well as visits with health specialists and various other programs.
As the number of involved seniors grew, the programs moved around to other community buildings and more services were offered. A bond issue was passed in 1986, which enabled us to create the permanent building that we utilize today. This facility was dedicated and opened for use in 1990.
In September 2015, the RSC was proud to celebrate its 25th year of serving the community in its current location. We're "Still Rockin' after 25 Years" and we look forward to continuing our support of the 50 plus community in Redmond and surrounding areas for many years to come.
