Downhill Dash Begins Redmond Race Series

Redmond, WA – On Sunday, February 5 at 7am, the City of Redmond’s Gridiron 1 Mile Downhill Dash race will begin at the intersection of NE 100th Ave and 166th Ave NE. It is a one mile course going south to finish at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center, 16600 NE 80th Street. The top male and female finishers will receive a gift certificate to FootZone to use on a pair of new running shoes.

With the short distance, the race is open to all levels of runners. This race is the first in our Race Series with a 5K scheduled for March and 10K in April. All races will be professionally timed by Metro Parks Tacoma Race Event Systems.

Online registration for the Gridiron 1 Mile Downhill Dash is available through February 3 at www.redmond.gov/econnect. The fee for this race is $10 or sign up for the whole series at the discounted price of $45, a savings of $15. There will be no race day registration for this event.

Course details are available at www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/48604052. A designated lane will be marked on the street and Police will be controlling traffic. Runners are encouraged to carpool and bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Hopelink food bank.
