Next year, 2012, is Redmond’s Centennial year. To celebrate, Redmond Poet Laureate Rebecca Meredith is seeking ten poets to help create the Redmond Centennial Poetry Anthology. When completed in late May 2012 the Anthology will consist of a series of poems written in response to ten historical photos of Redmond and will be published in digital form on Redmond’s Centennial website, www.100Years.Redmond.gov. A series of public events will be announced soon, including chances to meet the poets and the Poet Laureate and hear them present their poetry.
“It is our hope that the Poetry Anthology will help capture and express the spirit of Redmond as we move forward into the next 100 years,” stated Rebecca Meredith, Poet Laureate.
Poets who have a connection to Redmond and are interested in helping celebrate Redmond’s history through poetry are encouraged to apply by the deadline of Friday, January 13, 2012. The full call for poets application process
