Well known Alaska Guide and Outfitter, Dick Lange, will teach a class on fly fishing for the City of Redmond Recreation division. The class – Introduction to Fly Fishing (class number 37057) – is ten weeks beginning on Thursday March 31 and will be held every Thursday evening at 6:30.
Dick will introduce the students to entomology, habitat, knots, casting techniques, basic fly tying and stream reading. When done, each student will know the basics of fly casting, stream reading and will know when, where and why to fish, and which fly patterns work best.
All classes are held at the Redmond Senior Center, 8703 160th Avenue NE, Room 111, except for two field trips. These two classes will be held on the Sammamish River – one will teach fly casting and the other will allow for practice with the ability to catch a trout. Field trip dates will be decided by weather.
The cost for Redmond residents is $80 or $96 for non-residents. There is an additional fee of $15 for the Course Manual payable to instructor the first day of class.
