School Resource Officers

School Resource Officers (SRO) are important partners for schools and the community and keeping schools safe and students on the right track. Lake Washington School District and the Redmond Police Department provide three school resources assigned to Redmond Middle School, Rose Hill Middle School, and Redmond High School. 

Officer Matt Hurley

Officer Matt Hurley is assigned to Redmond Middle School. He began his career in Central Florida where he was born and raised. After working in Florida for about six years, he and his family relocated to Redmond and has been with Redmond PD since 2008. Officer Hurley has worked as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Officer in Charge, and a Neighborhood Resource Officer. Officer Paul Edwardsen

Officer Paul Edwardsen is assigned to Rose Hill Middle School. Officer Edwardsen is a graduate of Redmond High, class of 1970. He worked for the Port of Seattle Police Department before coming to Redmond in 1983. During this tenure he served as a SWAT Officer, Officer in Charge, Field Training Officer, background investigator, and Crisis Negotiator. He has five children.
