Redmond Police arrested a 24-year-old Bellevue man thought to be
responsible for at least 29 burglaries in the Redmond area alone.
Property stolen includes laptop computers, televisions, and smaller
electronic items totaling an estimated $60,000.
Bellevue Police initially arrested Justin Kelley of Bellevue on
Wednesday for a car prowl. At the time, Kelley was in
possession of a digital camera reported stolen from a previous
Redmond residential burglary case. After further Redmond
PD investigation, Kelley was arrested for at least 29 residential
burglary cases stemming back to January 2008. Official charges
are pending.
"This is a prime example of why it's imperative to call police
when a crime occurs," commented Redmond PD spokesperson Jim Bove.
"Even if nothing appears to be missing or damaged, we may be able to
lift fingerprints or other clues that lead us to a suspect.
It's also important for people to document serial numbers for
electronic equipment, look out for suspicious activity, and be aware
of what is going on in their neighborhoods."
