Thank You For Participating In Redmond's Neighborhood Network 2012

Thank you for sharing your perspective regarding the City and your neighborhood with us at the 2012 Neighborhood Network series.

The City continues to look for opportunities to enhance programs and customer service aspects of our day to day operations.  Please take a few moments to reflect on this year's or previous year's Neighborhood Network meetings and tell us what is most meaningful to you and what aspects of the series could be enhanced.

The Transportation Master Plan Update

Please review the TMP project pages to learn about community perspective shared at the November 17 Transportation Master Plan meeting.

The Transportation Master Plan (TMP) sets a course for Redmond to follow in developing and managing its transportation system. It also sets a course for the City’s involvement with other cities and agencies in developing regional networks, including a High Capacity Transit system connecting centers in Redmond with centers throughout the Puget Sound region. The TMP describes programs, projects and actions to be taken by the City from now to the year 2022. The TMP also describes the ultimate multimodal transportation network that Redmond will achieve as the City approaches “build out” in the years after 2022. Redmond will update this TMP in 2009, reflecting the experience it has had with this Plan and its progress toward implementing these programs and projects. Last Year's Neighborhood Network In Education Hill

On April 7, 2011, Education Hill residents joined Redmond City officials and staff to discuss the neighborhood. Piloted in 2010 in the Grass LawnRedmonds Neighborhood Network and Education Hill neighborhoods, the Neighborhood Network meeting is a new annual venue for Redmond's citizens to communicate with the City.

This is what community members shared through an online questionnaire.

Neighbors also shared their thoughts with staff and City officials in person during the Neighborhood Network and 2011 Citizen Academy series.  Here is a compilation of those thoughts as well as staff's suggestions.

We look forward to working with you again as we begin to review your ideas and suggestions.

Thank you for being part of the conversation in 2010

During the 2010 Neighborhood Network pilot, over 90 citizens took part in a Neighborhood Questionnaire.  The questions included:

  • What is your favorite aspect of the neighborhood?
  • What do you suggest for possible Neighborhood Matching Fund projects in 2011?
  • What neighborhood goal would you like to accomplish in 2011?
  • What do you suggest the City assist with or address in the neighborhood?
  • What are your greatest concerns regarding the neighborhood, today and during the next twenty years?

Concerns focused on transportation and vegetation.  For example, many responded with favoring the existing vegetation and wanting to preserve and maintain the green character of the neighborhood.  As well, many described how they enjoy walking along trails and sidewalks and want to increase transportation choices thereby reducing motor vehicle trips.  Support for the Redmond pool (which has reopened) was another recurring theme.
