Description: This federally-funded project will repair fatigued pavement areas, construct hot mix asphalt (HMA) overlay, and will replace all channelization and signal loops on Redmond Way from 132nd Avenue NE to just west of Bear Creek Parkway. In addition, curb ramps will be brought up to current ADA guidelines. Some road drainage pipe will be replaced. Motorists can expect this phase to begin mid to late May.

This work will significantly affect traffic flow in the corridor and also slow access to the neighborhoods adjacent to Redmond Way.

To help alleviate weekday traffic congestion, weekend work is planned for pavement grinding during the day with pavement resurfacing occurring at night. This work is scheduled to take place in mid-summer. Alternate routes will be developed during this phase of the project.

Also noteworthy, the City of Kirkland is currently working on its portion of the street (NE 85th Street) within the same time window. Commuters should expect traffic delays anywhere along the NE 85th Street/Redmond Way corridor from I-405 to Bear Creek Parkway.

During construction, the City of Redmond will provide updates through a variety of media including project signage, Redmond Community Radio AM-1650, RCTV channels 21(Comcast) 34(Frontier) and the city’s webpage.
