Description: The 36th Street Bridge is a project designed by BergerABAM for the City of Redmond. It provides a key roadway connection across SR 520 for the Overlake neighborhood by joining two major north-south arterials through the area: 148th Avenue NE and 156th Avenue NE.
The Bridge will help to alleviate congestion currently experienced on both the 148th Avenue NE and the NE 40th Street at SR 520 interchanges.
With future planned development of the Overlake area, which includes a mix of high-density housing, retail and commercial space, the need for this alternate crossing becomes increasingly critical. The bridge includes pedestrian access and bike connections across the SR 520 freeway and to the SR 520 Bike Trail.
