Many regional organizations appoint and/or elect committee members from the elected officials of surrounding counties and cities. Redmond's Mayor and City Councilmembers serve on the following committees.
A Regional Coalition for Housing (ARCH)
ARCH, created by Eastside cities and King County, preserves and increases the supply of housing for low and moderate income households in East King County. They assist households looking for affordable rental and ownership housing; provide financial support to groups creating housing affordable to low and moderate income households; and assist member governments in developing housing policies.

Cascade Water Alliance Board of Directors (CWA)
CWA is a non-profit corporation providing water supply to meet current and future needs of its members, eight municipalities (five cites and three water and sewer districts) in the Puget Sound region. As the Alliance, these municipalities are assured a cost-effective and environmentally responsible water supply through partnerships; conservation; acquiring, constructing and managing water supply infrastructure and fostering regional water planning.

Eastside Human Services Forum
The Eastside Human Services Forum fosters strong public and private partnerships to assure a stable network of health and human services for the benefit of all East King County residents.

Eastside Transportation Partnership (ETP)
The ETP provides an Eastside forum for inter-jurisdictional cooperation to implement coordinated, prioritized transportation plans and programs through leadership, education and advocacy.

Eastside Public Safety Communications Agency (EPSCA)
EPSCA is a consortium consisting of the cities of Bellevue, Issaquah, Kirkland, Mercer Island and Redmond and is responsible for developing, owning, operating and managing a geographical sub-region of the King County Regional Emergency Radio Communications System (serving police and fire agencies).

King County Cities Jail Oversight Assembly and Executive Committee (JOA)
The JOA consists of elected representatives of 37 cities within King County collaborating on jail issues.

King County Council Regional Transit Committee (RTC)
RTC’s purpose is to develop, review, and recommend policies and plans to guide Metro Transit operations to the County Council. It also reviews fares, facilities and equipment.

King County Growth Management Planning Council (GMPC)
GMPC consists of elected officials from King County, Seattle, Bellevue and the Suburban Cities Association, special purpose districts and the Port of Seattle. The GMPC developed and adopted the Countywide Planning Policies (CPP’s), which serve as a framework for each jurisdiction to develop its own comprehensive plan, which must be consistent with the overall vision for the future of King County. The GMPC recommends amendments to the CPP’s to the King County Council.

Northeast Regional Public Safety Communications Agency (NORCOM)
NORCOM provides emergency service communications (911) to the public for emergency medical services, fire and police by receiving calls for services, dispatching resources in response to those calls and tracking and coordinating the information flow and resources to assist the responders.

Puget Sound Regional Council (PRSC)
PSRC is an association of local government and state agencies that serves as a forum for developing policies and making decisions about regional growth management, economic and transportation issues in the four-county (Snohomish, King, Pierce and Kitsap) central Puget Sound region.
PSRC Executive Board
The Executive Board, chaired by the Regional Council president, meets monthly, and carries out delegated powers and responsibilities between meetings of the General Assembly.

PSRC Transportation Policy Board (TPB)
The Transportation Policy Board (TPB) includes representatives of the PSRC's member jurisdictions and regional business, labor, civic and environmental groups. The TPB meets monthly to advise the Executive Board on key transportation issues.

Regional Law Safety and Justice Committee (RLSJ)
Created by state law to share and coordinate criminal justice information and programs, to address important criminal justice issues in the region and plan future needs.

Sound Transit (ST)
King, Pierce and Snohomish counties partnered to create a single agency, Sound Transit - the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority - to develop alternatives for meeting regional travel needs. The agency is charged with planning, building and operating a high-capacity transit (HCT) system (within the three-county regional transit district) for the region's most heavily used travel corridors.
ST Board of Directors
The Sound Transit 18 member Board of Directors is the authority's governing body. The Board establishes policy, provides direction and performs oversight. Currently, the Sound Transit Board includes three members from Snohomish County, ten from King County, four from Pierce County, and the State Transportation Department secretary.

Suburban Cities Association (SCA) Public Issues Committee
Suburban Cities Association is a nonprofit corporation representing 37 suburban cities in King County. The purpose of SCA is to lead King County cities with populations less than 150,000 to act locally and partner regionally to create livable vital communities through advocacy, education, leadership, mutual support and networking.

Water Resource Inventory Area 8 (WRIA 8) Salmon Recovery Council
The Lake Washington/Cedar/Sammamish Watershed, also known as Water Resource Inventory Area (WRIA) 8, runs from the near shore of Puget Sound and the inlands of the north end of Elliott Bay to south Everett and east to the Bear Creek basin, the Issaquah Alps and upper reaches of the Cedar River.
The Salmon Recovery Council is composed of local elected officials; concerned citizens; scientists and representatives from business and environmental interests, water and sewer districts and federal and state agencies. The Council oversees implementation of a science-based salmon conservation plan in the Lake Washington/Cedar/Sammamish Watershed.
